DEFINITION OF CHEMICAL ELEMENTS

DEFINITION OF CHEMICAL ELEMENTS

The element is a substance that contains only one type of atom. An incredible variety around us is composed of substances that can also be called with the element. In short element is a pure substance that can not be broken down into simpler. Elements must be combined to form a new first compound, Most elements form a combination of two, three, or more, to form a compound. Because knowledge of these elements attracted me, I try to share it with my friend all in this post. The two main things that I will discuss is about the origin of the elements and groupings. If you want to get involved more deeply let's read carefully.

A. Origin of the Elements
Until recently, it was found about 115 elements on earth. Well approximately where ya elements of it come from? According to a source that I read anyway say
All elements in the Earth formed from the heart of the exploded star.
The universe of the first first formed only consists of two elements, namely helium and hydrogen that form a star, the core of these stars, hydrogen and helium together to form new elements heavier, even heavier elements produced in the explosion of a huge star called supernovae.
Well, that's about the origin of the elements pal.

B. Grouping Element
Based on his findings, the elements are grouped into two groups, namely the element that is the element of pure Natural and Artificial elements are made in the laboratory and usually short-lived.

1. Natural Elements
As in the previous explanation, until now has been discovered 115 elements, 90 of it is a natural element. Every substance on earth is composed of one or more of these 90 elements. Oxygen is the most common element in the earth, and also benefits the most we know is an element of human life (breathing). While hydrogen is the element most in the universe.

2. Elements of Artificial
Naturally, there is no element heavier than uranium, but the researchers were able to create new elements heavier, how to combine the two elements that are smaller together in a high speed, but most of the new element that did not last long and quickly break , Researchers trying to make it last a long time a new element, by making the elements to study its formation and how it changes when it becomes heavier.

In addition to the above grouping, Elements also grouped based on periodic system of elements by scientists, to be more easily distinguished by their nature. Here are the groupings are divided into metals, non-metals and semi-metals.

1. Elements of Metal
Most of the elements that have been found are metal elements, roughly around three-quarters of the whole element. Most metals have a high density, and shiny. These elements have many uses, because the element is strong, although the strong element is still easy to set up. In addition, the metal is also a conductor of heat and electricity. The metals are typically found mixed with other elements in the earth's crust.

2. Elements of nonmetal
There are about 16 non-metallic element that occurs naturally. Everything (except graphite) is a conductor of heat and electricity poorly, its nature is contrary to the metallic elements. At room temperature, the four elements (phosphorus, carbon, sulfur, and iodine) in the form of solids, the other eleven in the form of gas.

3. Semi-metallic elements
This Semi-metallic elements elements called metalloids, can act as a conductor of the poor (such as non-metallic), but also can be made in order to be a good conductor (such as metal). Because of its nature, the elements Semi-metallic elements called semiconductors. There are nine elements Semi-metallic elements, and everything is a solid at room temperature.

Thus my discussion this time with the theme "Elements", although there are still many shortcomings, hopefully after reading it, knowledge pal increased though only slightly, thanks my friend had wanted to come here, if willing to please fill comments box, so that we can mutually share information about this post.
