Science Lovers ...
Well my friends,
this time we will discuss about the characterictic of light, we just enter into the discussion.
As an
electromagnetic wave character, the light has some specific properties that
provides many benefits to living creatures on earth. Here are some of the
properties of light, among them are:
1. Propagating Light
Straight
The nature of
straight propagating light can be proved by reviewing whether or not an object
based on a light forwarding. Objects that are not translucent light can not
pass on the light that hits. When exposed to light, these objects will form the
image. The objects are classified into a dark object, which means the body can
not produce its own light. Examples such as cardboard, plywood, wood, walls,
and others.

Meanwhile,
translucent objects can pass the light that hits. This object is known as a
class of objects light source. Examples such as glass.
2. The light may be
reflected
The other is the
nature of light can also be reflected light. The reflectance of light consists
of diffuse reflectance (diffuse reflectance) and a regular reflection. Diffuse
reflection occurs when light on the uneven surface and the direction of the
beam pantulnya irregular. While regular reflection occurs when light on a flat
surface, shiny or slippery such as light reflected by a flat mirror and the
rays of the results of regular reflection direction. The objects that have
properties of this light is a mirror. Based on the shape of the mirror surface
is divided into a mirror flat and curved mirrors. Curved mirror itself is
divided into two kinds, ie convex mirror and a concave mirror. Following
further descriptions of the mirror.
Flat mirrors
A flat mirror
surface is not curved mirror. Flat mirror is a mirror that we use everyday to
berias. The nature of a flat mirror covers, (1) the size of the shadow is equal
to the size of the object, (2) the distance between the shadow is equal to the
object distance to the mirror, (3) a shadow on a flat mirror is false or
virtual, meaning shadow seen but can not be captured screen , (4) a shadow on a
flat mirror upright.
Convex mirror
Convex mirror mirror
whose surface is curved outward. His shadow is false or virtual (meaning shadow
can be seen but can not be captured screen).
Concave Mirror
Unlike the case with
convex mirrors, concave mirrors have a curved surface to the inside. Shadow
objects in mirror are upright, magnified and virtual. If the object is far from
the concave mirror, the reflection is real and inverted.
In everyday life, a
concave mirror is usually used as a reflector in the light like a car, a
flashlight, the spoons, and so forth.
3. The light can be
refracted
Refraction is the
bending direction of propagation of an incident light, where the light propagates
through the two substances of different density. If the light that comes to it
from a substance less density towards more substance to the density of the
light will be refracted approaching normal line.
Here are examples of
events refraction of light.
a. Pencil inserted into the water in a glass, then the pencil will
look crooked.
b. Pool of crystal clear water will seem shallow
c. Stargazing with a telescope
4. Light Can
Outlined
Other terms of the
decomposition of light is dispersion. The principle of this light decomposition
is decomposition of white light into light with a color that varies. Here are
some examples that illustrate that light can be described.
The rainbow, the rainbow occur because of
the sunlight that seems to be white and is actually composed of color
variations described by
a. water droplets in clouds / rain water.
b. Color discs played will give an overview of white color.
c. The halo that seemed to surround the moon or the sun.
5. Can Light
Penetrating pellucid Objects
The nature of this
light can be demonstrated by the following examples.
The sunlight can enter into a house through
the window that had a clear glass. If the window is covered with a black cloth
so light can not penetrate the window glass.
When someone walks in daylight look a
shadow of his own body, it is clear that light can not penetrate a person's
body because the body is not clear, so it was only a shadow.

our discussion of the properties of light, may be useful for all my friend and
