Sciencelovers - Many predict that the metaverse will be able to change how a person will live his life, because some people see this as a n...
Although the original concept is not yet so visible, but what Meta Inc. wants to present. Is a virtual world that really supports all lines of activities such as work, socializing, playing and much more.
Metaverse and Everyone's Life
The concept of the metaverse itself began to become a "deeper" spotlight when people were dealing with a pandemic that never subsided.
Some lockdown steps that make people unable to leave the house, or experience limitations to travel, make this concept increasingly glimpsed.
How not? From Meta, this looks very interesting because we can do almost anything, in a virtual world, without having to get out of our comfortable residence.
Meetings such as meetings and working in groups are also possible in the metaverse. Of course this looks very interesting.
Building relationships as close as possible regardless of distance is really the key to the metaverse. So, in terms of work and business, this is worth trying.
It is likely that large companies such as Apple, Google and Amazon will take part in this hot sector. Although, it doesn't really get in it, like providing its connecting device only.
The real adoption of the metaverse today is in the gaming industry, where it already seems as very successful as from Roblox, even SandBox and Decentraland are still in the development stage.
From this, we have also seen a shift in the way one views a game, especially if it is able to make real profits from crypto assets such as SandBox and Decentraland.
Of course, there is still a lot of homework that must be done by metaverse developers, such as security, personal data protection, free from immoral acts and so on.
Not to mention, if we had to discuss, which metaverse would actually be really booming. Whether it's a centralized one like from a Meta Inc. company, or a decentralized one that runs on a blockchain network.
In the coming years, when all the homework and rules are successfully completed, the metaverse will likely quite change the way some people live life. This is likely to be a new digital age. Let's watch.
A Peek at Life in the Metaverse
Currently, metaverse technology is still in its early stages. Zuckerberg himself stated that the new metaverse will become mainstream in the next five to ten years. However, now we can taste what life is like in the metaverse through metaverse games such as Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft, and Sandbox.
In the Sandbox for example, in addition to being filled by users from among the public, there are many brands, Intellectual Property (IP), and celebrities who "live" in it.
Adidas, The Walking Dead, Pororo, South China Morning Post, Quan, and Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg has even held concerts, private parties, and interacted with fans in the Metaverse Sandbox.
In the Sandbox, users can buy, sell, and rent digital assets such as "land" or virtual land. In this virtual land built properties such as houses, offices, shops, malls, and art galleries.
Now, about 16,000 people have bought virtual land in the Sandbox even though per plot is priced at $15,179.
To be able to buy virtual land, users need to own a cryptocurrency called SAND (1 coin for USD7-8).
